The Neverending Roller Coaster Ride

The roller coaster ride never ends. I've been house/apartment hunting all week. Someone beat me to the place I really like.

I've also been restaurant hunting. It's hard to find a good location.

Have to find a preschool for Emily too...

Yesterday, I took Chloe to Scottish Rite (Dallas) in the morning and Emily to her pediatrician (Arlington) in the afternoon. After that, I collected my phone from the repair guy and rushed to work.

Today, I continue house/apartment hunting. Haven't been able to squeeze in any workout time yet.

Updated Body Count

According to Jen, I got the body count wrong.

Gene and Kent didn't get sick. Kent wasn't here. Their wives didn't get sick.

Kimi's mom didn't get sick.

So the body count is 15, not 20.

Also, there were 3 Jens and 2 Emilys. So if the names are confusing, it's because they are.

Wow! What a ride!

The last 9 days has been a roller coaster ride on 'roids.

Feb 12, arrived from Singapore in DFW after a 26 hour flight. Jen's cousins were also visiting from Boston with their family that very day. 3 adults, 3 kids and a baby. They would stay till the 17th.

Feb 13, Jen's cousins (Ah Ping) from Oklahoma visits. 2 Adults and 2 kids. The house is going crazy. I'm having severe jet lag and Emily starts vomiting. She has the stomach flu. Emily stops vomiting in about 2 days and take a few more days to get her appetite back.

Ah Ping would leave the same day. His daughter (Jennifer) gets hit by the stomach flu after a couple of days.

Feb 14, Jen's cousin (Kimi?) and her baby (Justin) gets hit by the bug too. Jen and her niece (Jennifer) gets hit too.

Jen's other cousins (Gene & Ken) from Oklahoma visit with their wives en route to Austin. They would leave that night. They get hit too.

Feb 15, I bring Chloe to Arlington Memorial's ER at 4AM. Chloe started vomiting at 1AM. She throws up 8 times in the next 4 hours.

CJ, Kimi's other son, gets hit.

Another cousin (Kristin?) visits from Oklahoma with her family. 2 adults, 2 kids.

Feb 16, Jen's relatives visit the Fort Worth Zoo despite some of them carrying this highly contagious virus. Sherry and more relatives get hit. The toilet bowl gets worshiped like never before.

Kristin returns to Oklahoma. They get hit too. Kristin's son throws up on her fiance's (Shane) face in the car on the ride back.

By Feb 17, everyone gets hit except Jen's parents, Jen's grandma and me.

20 people got hit. 11 adults, 7 kids and 2 babies.

Jen's parents let the cousins from Boston use their room during their visit. Her parents are still sleeping on the futon downstairs. They're afraid to sleep in their own bed.

Takes a few days for things to get back to normal.

Damage Control

Just returned to DFW Thursday night. Assessed the damage from my hiatus.

5lbs!

I can live with that. Overall, I think I did a good job.

Getting back to the gym tommorrow.

5lbs and counting...

The last week has been terrible. Only managed to get in 2 days of gym last week. I must have put on at least 5lbs.

Most of the eating I’ve been doing is research. I want to open a restaurant so trying new foods is essential. [Un]Fortunately, Singapore is a culinary treasure trove.

The drinking, however, is inexcusable but after one bottle of vodka…

I’ll be returning to DFW on Feb 12. Look out for my food blog once I get over the 14 hour time difference. There should also be a more detailed posting on my Phuket trip.

My workout and diet should get back to normal and I hope to lose 20lbs by end of this year.
