Crashing in Slow Motion

We met with one of the developer (Dan) and his broker today. The only obstacle is a very important tenant (a big national chain). We need their approval to open in that shopping center because our menu may be too similar.

I don't see how we're be a threat as we cater to a different clientele. They're high end while we're causal dining. Want to impress a date or celebrate a special occasion, go to them. Want a quick and casual meal, come to us.

Dan likes our concept and will try to work something out with his VIP tenant. He'll get back to us in 2 weeks.

I'm not going to sit on my butt and hope for good news. Personally, I'm not very optimistic. Tomorrow, I continue searching for a restaurant location.

This whole episode has me burnt-out. The brokers initially said there wasn't any issues. Then they said we only have to take a few items off our lunch menu. Later, a few items off our dinner menu. Now we have to wait for their VIP tenant's approval.

It's like crashing a plane in slow motion.
